Gerry Ngu has been working for about 14 years at the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as an Aviation Certification Expert for Software & Airborne Electronic Hardware. Major aviation projects from global players, including large aeroplanes, business jets, RPAS, engines, equipment, as well as their Design Organisation Approval were approved and certified with his implication or under his supervision.
In 2016, within EASA, Gerry moved from software certification to cybersecurity. Through a cooperation agreement between EASA & CERT-EU, he is actually working within the Cyber Threat Intelligence team of CERT-EU in Brussels. Consequently, Gerry is passing his aviation expertise to his CERT-EU colleagues and at the same time deploying his additional gained cybersecurity knowledge to his EASA team. With other EASA colleagues, Gerry is building up the fundament for ECCSA (the European Cybersecurity Centre in Aviation).
