Birgy Lorenz

Birgy Lorenz is a lecturer from Tallinn University, Digital Safety Lab and teacher and IT development manager in Pelgulinna Gymnasium, trainer at Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA). She has finished her PhD degree on syllabus Information Society Technologies at 2017 on the topic: A Digital Safety Model for Understanding Teenage Internet User’s Concerns. She is also eSafety trainer in Estonia in a program Safer Internet in Estonia EE SIC and HITSA ProgeTiger Tallinn/Harju county leader.
Her activities include being part of developing National Curricula ICT syllabus, writing articles about e-safety, project management in TurvaLan project what has been awarded by: Microsoft (2009): Innovative Teacher Award and European Schoolnet (2010): 1st eLearning Award, in ‘Internet Safety’ category. Teacher of the year in Estonia (2011). Tallinn’s city council award; Nominee of Tiger Leap innovative teacher; Swedbank and Tartu University Ethic Centre business ethics award(2012). American Embassy and Teaching Excellency and Achievement program representor form Estonia, IREX, Ohio, Bowling Green State University (2013). British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, volunteer article writer; Kodu KUP Europe ambassador from Estonia in EU project with European Schoolnet and Microsoft; “One step today another tomorrow” program material developer award from HITSA (2014). Current projects: Smart Lesson To Every School.
